"Operation Light the Darkness"
The United States Census Bureau 2006 estimates place the population for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Statistical Area at 1,777,539 people, and the region is one of the fastest growing in the United States. Las Vegas was ranked as the 29th largest city in the United States in 2000, but recent estimates suggest that the city's population has since surpassed that of Atlanta, Nashville, and Louisville, to place it 22nd in rank. It is likely to surpass Milwaukee and possibly a few other cities to reach the top 20 by the time of the 2010 Census. The Nations come here on a daily basis of every race and creed. 33.5 million people visit this city on a yearly basis. People come to this city basically to do whatever and then leave. Well God has blown the clarion call to Melissa and I to work in this field in a very unique way.
Let me tell you how this all started. Most of you know we have been back in Vegas since September 2006. During this time we have been through great trials sickness and lack. Many times Melissa and I just wanted it to all stop. It did not and we kept pursuing God and His presence with no relief to speak of. Three months ago I was offered a job to be the Night Manager of Carnival court outside of Harrah's. When I prayed about accepting this position I knew that this was more than a job. As I began to work there the Lord began to show me that there was no presence of God on the strip anywhere. He sent me to be a point of light in great darkness, a prophetic voice crying in the darkness. As I would walk on the strip doing my job I began to see just how great the darkness and what was going and not going on. Not one person handing out a track, not one dance team not one. No one openly praying and lifting up their hands in praise to God. The other thing the Lord showed me was that the devil is advertising boldly. He is advertising twenty-four hours a day, picketing, handing out horrible material and creating a place that pales in comparison to Sodom and Gomorrah.
As I worked and listened to Holy Spirit, I began to see what it was that I have been called to do. Just to brag on the work of God in my life, I have already had two people walk up to me at work and ask what was so different about me and why was I so happy. To know me is to know that is a great work God has done in me. We are already ministering to a young lady working on the streets and she wants to be free and told me the other night I was an answer to prayer. To God be the glory. I have always felt and have even preached that I wanted to go to the market place and manifest the presence of God. Well guess what? That thing God placed deep in my heart is now coming to pass.
On May 26th we will launch "Operation Light the Darkness". We are going to be walking billboards of His presence. You say," what do you, mean by that?" Well these are the things that we will be putting into motion beginning on May 26th.
1. We will be wearing t-shirts that say different sayings that we have come up with and more of them as the spirit leads. Sayings like:
a. Jesus directly to you on the back He's only a prayer away
b. Jesus is the answer on the back Do you know the Answer?
c. Now is the time to meet Jesus on the back Do you know what time it is. Do you have eternal life on the back ask me how
d. He has made me free on the back are you free?
e. Do you need freedom from yesterday on the back I know who holds the future? These shirts are made to provoke people to respond to questions, comments and maybe even persecution. We will be praying and seeing how the Holy Spirit wants us to deal with each situation. We may prophecy their destiny to them. Give them a word of knowledge or just operate in whatever gift God wants to use or just be a friend.
2. As we walk up and down the strip we will wear the shirts and hopefully prompt questions, comments from those on the strip, opportunities to be a witness, pray for people, anoint people with oil and just do whatever God says.
3. As God leads we will be handing out cards to those who God shows us. These cards will have information and the prayer of salvation. I can already hear your question. What happens to the people who receive prayer or we minister to? Well since this ministry is not to build my church but to build the kingdom of God, each card will have a phone number and our website address. These two places will have information of churches in their city or ministries that they can get in contact with. This way we are building the kingdom of God by ministering to people on the strip in Las Vegas.
For example if someone comes here from the Los Angeles area we will have information for Apostle Bob Cather's church the Gathering Place in Simi Valley, Kim Clement in Hollywood and others. In Phoenix Patricia Kings Ministry and others. If you know of any churches or ministries that would like to be added to the database please let us know. Also we will have a very special ministry team. These team members will have a code to log into the "Eternal Purpose" message center and answer the calls and messages that have been left. (If you would like to be a part of this special team let us know.) This can be done by geographical region or as the Holy Spirit leads. Every single person that emails us or calls us will receive a follow up call and some material to help him or her in their journey towards God or with God.
4. Our greatest commission is to saturate the strip of Las Vegas with the presence and power of God. Being led by the spirit singing, preaching, prophesying, and praying and doing whatever God tells us to do. Attached is a prophetic word we received in regards to the launching of this ministry. We are going to sing and worship on the strip and we are going to do pantomime and have dance teams of young people to gather crowds.
5. We will anoint the bottom of our shoes with oil and we will be doing a Jericho walk and anointing the buildings and wherever we go with oil calling Gods plan and destiny for Las Vegas to manifest.
6. We will also be launching "Operation Come and Drink". We will be giving little bottles of water to anyone who wants them. If you have ever been in Vegas during the summer and was thirsty you would have loved to find a place that we will provide. We will have a cart where people can come and get this free water. Hopefully giving them a spiritual water or just planting a seed.
7. What are we doing now? We are praying and seeking God preparing ourselves for May 26th. We are checking with the city officials and all of the ordinances and laws for us to follow. We have already met with a police officer and he gave me most of the information I needed. We are setting up our 1 800 # to put on the cards and the shirts and creating the church database for those who are ministered to.
8. Now we are asking you to be a part of this as God leads you to. What do we need from you?
a. Prayer and more Prayer
b. Pray for laborers. We need lots of people to hit the streets with us.
c. Sow a bottle of anointing oil, which we are putting in a big container and we will be praying over, and asking God to use this oil as a point of contact for His presence. We will then use the oils combined from all of you to anoint ourselves, shoes and anything else God shows us to.
d. Come and be a part of "Operation Light the Darkness" you can join us for a week or whatever time you have.
e. Sow a seed of finances to help us pay for shirts, water or a seed to start "Operation Light the Darkness". If you know of a way to provide these items please let us know.
9. Melissa and I see this as our full time job. We see ourselves at the right time and as God leads as our daily job to go to the strip and be His presence on a daily basis. Our target area is from Sahara to Tropicana for the time being. We will be setting up plans for Fremont Street in the future.
In closing I want you to know that we understand the enormity of this call and know that we are not the solution to this city or the strip. The last three months we have been praying, seeking wisdom and counsel, we have counted the cost and are sober in our approach. We are humbled by this call and just want to be faithful to the call and faithful to this city and what God has placed within our hearts.
We have been asking God for independent confirmation of this great work God. Just yesterday our insurance agent, Zach Nicoletti, and told me that he was praying for Melissa and I that morning and he said God told him that Brent and Melissa are going to start a new ministry on the strip. Thank you my dear brother for your obedience. We understand this is a huge undertaking and we step out in faith and prayerfully walking step-by-step being led by the spirit. We join together with all Christian churches in Las Vegas and throughout the world that we will work together to see His kingdom come and His Glorious plan and purpose established in not "sin city" but a City of Light or The City of Grace. Remember we are calling and looking for laborers to labor with us. So be in prayer and help us call the laborers in.

Hear the word of the Lord...
I have released a new prophetic anointing in your lives that will come through you to the nations in song. You will need look no further than the city in which you now live to touch the tribes of the earth. For they are gathering themselves to the place of darkness like carrion to a carcass.
I place within your song My keys to unlock and free the captive - out of your mouth these keys will fly all over the city bringing freedom to the mind held by the enemy's strongholds. These keys will also carry within them the release of destiny that will ignite My purpose within them.
You will be a "Pied Piper" to an unlikely group. For you have ministered in the prophetic utterance to a slumbering bride for the purpose of reviving her - now I send you to the unchurched, non-religious to usher in reformation within their soul.
You have asked Me, "why have You brought us here, Lord" and I tell you now - I show you even now. Have eyes to see! Have ears to hear! Will you not perceive it? You have seen the lack of presence by the church, but that is because you've been expecting an institution to flex its muscles there in the place of darkness. I tell you now that YOU are that ray of light meant to pierce through the darkness. YOU are My "church" representing Me. I have given you the keys, I have shown you My purpose, I have filled your mouth with prophetic song & utterance, I have laid upon you My charge to stand & declare - to love and to care.
You have found yourself not "fitting into" a body of Believers there because I have called you to Pastor a congregation of My choosing - a people unsuspecting; in a way that is unconventional; and outside the box as far as church planting is considered. You have not been taken FROM ministry... you have gone to another level of ministry prepared FOR you. It doesn't look like anything you've seen because it is a new thing I do with you.
You ask yourself, "how". Will I not do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or think?! I am assembling even now people who will come alongside of the vision, mission, and ministry that I am placing in your hearts. Do not say that "we've have tried to get support before without success - how will this be different". I tell you that provision stems from Life, the way fruit grows from a rooted tree. Your struggle there has been the process of pushing through fallow, tough ground to root yourselves into a place of sustenance. Now is the time... now is the season. It springs forth in the desert place with streams of new life (Isaiah 43:18-19) that will create fertile ground to grow the planting of the Lord (Ezek. 47:1-12) that will flourish like an oasis in the desolate place.
I am speaking to you now, showing you My plan - revealing to you My purpose for Las Vegas, Nevada. Therefore, man & woman of God be strengthened in MY word and receive My peace. For this will not be as ministry was here for you the last time. It is a new work & fresh beginning! The foundation is already laid. It has been a year since I spoke to you concerning the move I was making with you and the impact I would have through you in Las Vegas, Nevada... using you as with massive hammers to break loose the spiritual dam that has been held up until this time. Brent & Melissa, you will be My prophetic/apostolic voice - My voice and My hand.
Do not fret, do not worry. I will establish this among you - be expectant! Begin to share and proclaim it to those I will show you. Like Nehemiah did among the elders who would aid in the rebuilding of the desolation of Jerusalem, so will I bring workers along side of you to help in the work. It will be a quick work against "impossible" odds, but trust Me and push through to your victory and the freedom of a city.
